India is a country full of bright students especially girls who even though dream big and work hard towards reaching the stars, but due to financial constraints their dreams are lost. Parents belonging to lower economic strata in India due to financial constraints prefer to provide education to the male child in the family than to the girl child even if she is more meritorious and hardworking. India’s literacy rate shows the gap between the rates of female literacy and male literacy, and this gap is also reflected in the enrolment for higher education.
Prayatna in collaboration with Edugirls is trying to bridge this gap by associating with people who want to support such girls. This scholarship portal provides information to the potential sponsors to know the girl students they want to support and gives opportunity to the deserving girl students who want to pursue professional courses receive financial and mentoring support.
