Q. Why do I need to sign up as a donor on the portal?

A. Signing up with Reach for The Stars gives you the opportunity to help female scholars who want to pursue professional courses. The scholars, who have signed up on the portal, have complete background checks done by the Prayatna team. The verification seal on the profiles carries Prayatna’s assurance that the scholars are genuine and brilliant!

Q. What are the benefits of signing up as a donor?

A. Signing up as a donor gives you access to check the scholars’ progress and decide whether you want to carry on the support or suspend the scholarship.

Q. Can I donate without signing up as a donor?

A. Yes. You can simply click on donate now and help scholars out in achieving their dreams.

Q. Can I support more than one student?

A. Yes, you can by selecting more than one scholar in the list sent to you by our team..

Q. Can I support the scholars for multiple years?

A. Yes. In fact, we encourage donors to support the scholars for multiple years so that they can continue their education without worrying about the financials. There is an option in your account, where you can opt for the number of years you want to support the student(s) for.

Q. If I want to suspend the scholarship, will I get my money back?

A. No, once the payment has been made for the scholarship, the money can’t be returned. If required, you can suspend the scholarships for the coming semesters.

Q. Can I meet the scholars that I am supporting?

A. We discourage meeting scholars directly to protect the privacy of the scholars and their families while ensuring that they have dignity in receiving your support. However, you may place a request with us (Admin) though the message option and our team will get in touch with the student if she and her family are willing to meet.

Q. Eligibility for the scholarship:

A. Admissions in professional courses with rank in all-India exams (if any) along with income certificate.

Q. Who can apply?

A. . Female scholars who are 12th pass out and have been or are getting accepted by a university/college. The scholarship is also open for females who have completed their bachelors and want to pursue higher studies.

Q. What are the documents required to submit to the portal for the scholarship?

A. The scholars are required to submit their,
1. 12th boards marksheet,
2. College Acceptance letter,
3. Income certificate,
4. Caste certificate (if present)
5. Pan card
6. Aadhar card

Q. Can I edit my profile after it has been accepted? If yes, how?

A. You can change the information which is dynamic in nature. If you need to edit the dynamic part, you can request the changes to us at support@reachforthestars.org.in and we will help you change the details. If you made mistakes in the static part of the KYC, contact us at support@reachforthestars.org.in, so that we can help you correct the mistakes. You cannot change the information which is static in nature. Static information (which cannot be changed)- Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Permanent Address, City/State, Pincode, Caste Category, Father’s Occupation, Mother’s Occupation, Annual Family Income, Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Pan Card) and some dynamic (updated as per need- educational details).

Q. If I haven’t received my marksheets while filling the form, what should I do then?

A. You can click on the option of not received yet and upload the marksheet once received. The scholarships are subject to release only once you have completed the forms and uploaded all the documents.

Q. Can I contact my donor directly?

A. No, you cannot. If you wish to convey any message, you are given an option in your account to message the admin. We will convey the message to your donor.

Q. What are the conditions for the scholarships?

A. Reach for the stars has its own set conditions that must be fulfilled by the scholars-
1. 80% attendance in your class.
2. Aggregate of 60% in your exams.
3. Upload the original receipts for the amount against which the scholarship has been paid.
Apart from the above, you might be required to fulfil certain conditions set by the donors.

Q. Should I apply again for renewal of Scholarship - (Registered Applicants)?

A. No. You have to keep updating your educational and other details (marksheets, fees payment receipts and/or completion of one degree and further support for higher education). Based on your consistent performance, attendance and availability of funds, the scholarship will be renewed automatically. You are required to stay in touch with the admin for the status of your scholarship.

Q. What are the components of the mentorship offered?

A. The mentorship offers you the chance to develop your socio-emotional skills, which will be helpful in adjusting to changes in college and work environment and life in general. The mentors will also guide you in developing career plans and ensure work readiness.
